2005 MY Corvette – Precision Red Paint (27U) Replaced with Victory Red Paint (74U)

Date: August 4, 2004

As announced previously in "Chevylaunch.com", 2005 Corvette production began with two Red exterior paints on the palette: Precision Red (27U) and Magnetic Red (86U - additional charge $750.00).

A new, brighter, non-metallic Red is set to replace Precision Red. This new offering is Victory Red (74U). Victory Red is currently in the GM color palette, (i.e., Monte Carlo), and is brighter than Precision Red but less orange/yellow than Torch Red. Although Victory Red orders will not be scheduled for production until November 2004, it may be ordered beginning Thursday, August 5, 2004.

Final orders for the discontinued Precision Red (27U) must be entered by Saturday, August 21st. Precision Red will be constrained as it is phased out. As a result, any Precision Red orders not selected for production by the end of business on Tuesday, August 24th, will need to be changed to another color before that order can be scheduled for production.

Rob; can that color be seen anywhere, now. I have ordered a red vert and I am curious about the color. I have time to change it if I don't care for it.

Greetings Cheesehead. I just moved from Milwaukee,

I saw the car yesterday at Carlisle, PA show. It is in the Kerbeck tent.

I am going back tomorrow and If I had a digital camera, you would have pics tomorrow.

I describe the color as Rustoleum primer as it was 20 years ago in a quart can. Looks like a mud red .

I tell you what.

Kerbecks is world largest corvette dealer.
Located in Atlantic City, Nj

Kristen had a C6 custom-painted PINK there ! oh yeah
Your color car will be back at thier dealer tomorrow night.

Explain your situation carefully in that you are not giving them any business and request they email you Monday a pic.

You are correct, Kerbeck informed my that they will not have any verts for 6 weeks so you have time.

The other red was there and is nice. I would ask for pic as well.

I can tell you I sat in 1 and you will be happy with the interior. I also like the idea of no keys. The FOB does it all.

Take Care
Dave

Thanks Dave I will track them down ask for a photo of the car. I remember when the 1962 vette vert was new and all red! It was so hot!!! I am anxious to see if they have reproduced my dream colors...

There was a Precision Red C6 at the Corvettes at Carlisle event this past weekend.

Personally, I like it, even though several have complained about it.
