2008 atomic orange coupe
I recently purchased a 2007 atomic orange vette, which I love. It has the LT3 pkg and the navigation. Supposedly, this version gets the "premium" stereo system by bose. Does anyone know if it is actually different from the "normal" stereo system, and how it differs? There is so much bass from this system that I have to lower its' setting. It has six EQ buttons, but does not say what the settings are for each EQ, and apparently, they cannot be changed.?? Does each speaker have an amp.? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

HI there,
Your system carries a different type of amplification, which uses a primary amplifier and the 2 front door speakers carry secondary amplifiers.
This is different from the U66 which uses only the 1 main amplifier.
This is why your base response is so strong.
As for your different EQ ranges, they are listed in your owners manual as to the different responses and what signal responses are set up.

Is this the same on the 1998 C5??? I just picked up my "new" C5 and there is a noticable difference between the sound system in my 1994 roadster and this 1998 roadster. Not as much base in the 98.

Can I just replace the speakers and get the same base as the premium sound?? Of course I would have to get the power supply to these speakers but I kind of miss that great base sound I get out of the 94 car.;shrug

Thanks,
Denny

thank you c4c5 specialist

I read many of these questions, and, quite often, c4c5 responds. It is a very nice thing you do to help people out. On behalf of, I'm sure many people, I thank you.

Acoustics vs speaker location vs design improvements over the years all play an important role in sound system design.
Your 98 could have one of 2 different speaker packages.
Once again, your U codes will tell us.
