Pro Team for 67

I'm trying to find a '67 conv. and there's NOTHING here in Michigan. A friend recommended a place called Pro-Team ( in Ohio). Any feedback on them????

I've never dealt with them, but if you shop around and compare prices, they seem to be a little on the high side. Check them out on the web.

Cristina I try to avoid big dealers as much as possible needless to say Terry about ran me over in Knoxville earlier this year b/c I was standing in his way. Needless to say there are 8 67 for sale right now on Collector Car Trader.com. If you like I will post some more links but here is for the page that I searched and found these 8.

I have checked Car Trader and it's a pain, there's three cars listed in Michigan and they sold months ago. Mostly, there seems to be two dealers, Performance Plus and Pro Team. Do places like that even negotiate?

I really want a 350, but they seem to be over $45K, which is up there.

I'm saving the 427 for retirement (I should use my 401K on it, the return would be better.)

Anyone else deal directly with these places?

Has anyone actually dealt with Pro Team personally? (Other than Mr. Rowdy 1)

The prices seem high, but somebody is buying them. They sold two of the one I was looking at over the weekend.

Not that I have bought from them but in practice they our filling the niche of buyers who just want a vette, this is why they are selling lots of vettes. The are not catering to those that want to look for a vette they recieve those that have money will travel to Ohio and come home with a vette. You can expect to pay 5k+ over what you could if you buy from an individual. Trust me I've seen them at auctions buy a car for 30k and roll it around the way and stick 37k on it and do nothing to it. You will pay for their overhead but why??? All it does it to continue to justify the exsistance of ProTeam. Dave...

Dear Christina,

As has been said dealers fill a void. If you have the wood (cash) they will provide the car and it will be a very nice one. However, you will pay more than the car is currently worth. Many of the vette people I know don,t like dealers and won,t sell their cars vto them even if they offer more money. I looked for two years before I found my 67 427 roadster but I got a great price and made a good new friend in the person who sold me his car. I know a friend who bought two cars from proteam, he is happy with his purchases but he has lots of money and time was of the utmost importance. Use this site or local vette clubs and you will find a good car at a fair price. This is not dogma just my opinion.

What are you looking for ----- cp. or vert. , 4 sp. or auto , what options do you perfer , what colors , is original engine required , etc. , etc. ? Is '67 the only year you are interested in ? Geo

I would have to agree with the rest... you will not get the best deal from a dealer. I looked around for 2 years before I found my '67 350 hp coupe. I knew what I wanted and just kept searching the web. It was also a great learning experince going out and pouring over all the cars I could find. I would suggest waiting until next summer and go to Bloomington Gold event. I belive it is the last weekend in June. They offer many classes some geared toward the first time buyer. Bloomington and NCRS offer a wealth of information on what to look for and how to avoid the junk. ANd trust me there is ALOT of junk Corvettes out there that look good but will cost big $ to correct!:cool

Sorry about the delay in response, worm virus. Looking for a convert with a 4-spd 350.

I did get down to Pro-Team and they were nice. It was way cool to see all of those mid-years together. They have four huge buildings FULL of mid-years (and some from the 50's, too.)

Not sure which path to take, just taking it easy now!!!

Thanx for all of the advice. Pro-Team will always be there and I would rather find a personal seller. It just seems right. Keep me in mind if you see a '67 in your travels!!!!

It is my opinion that Pro Team, Corvette Mike and the other dealers are running up the price of vintage Corvettes to make a fast buck. They have the resources to search the country for these cars, buy low and sell high. Doing business with them will only keep this cycle going, and you will not be able to afford to own one.

67 find

Thank you bossvette. I just checked the site out and they do have a 67. It's a red 327/300 with no side pipes, but the price is the best I've seen yet (even for personal sales). Going down tomorrow to look! Wish me luck (I'm needing it). They are actually down the road from ProTeam (ironic)

Hope things worked out for you with the red '67! I am going to pick up my '65 from Pro-team on Thursday.

I feel like I got a decent deal from them, although time will tell!
