Lost 67

Deal fell through with the little red one ... sold a while ago. they didn't update their web site. Owner seems really decent though.

Pro Team is still in the running because they are the only ones with 67's out there.

So you were pretty happy with your deal, the salesman, etc.????

I agree with richard

These guys buy up anything 20 K and under then without doing anything to them turn them to unsuspecting customers who don't know vetts. then when the guy trys to sell finds that they got took ! have delt with that on MANY occations. Hopefully they will move on to another market soon !

I too agree.......when I started my search for a 65-67 I went to their site.......called and chatted with a salesman. They are over priced.
If they have a car that is decent....they will raise the price accordingly.

That being said the are filling a need......they are still in business......the bright side is that the are keeping the values up for the owners/sellers that are in the know.:drink :dance :puke

Have you tried the Corvette and Chevy trader available where you buy newspapers it usually has quite a few, there was one in the Toledo Blade last week also, but it was gone in todays.

65

Christina, I am just in the process right now. I will pick the car up on Thursday (hoping for good weather!). I will let you know. So far I have been happy with them. I think most people think they are overpriced have not been to their place and seen what all they have. I think their prices are higher than some other places, but I also think that they have good quality midyears. HOWEVER, I don't have mine yet!:cool I will let you know. My salesman was very good, but typical slick car salesman. As far as them moving on to another market soon, I don't think that's likely! Good or bad, I am pretty sure they are here to stay.

you mean unless they have to change names again, or face other "legal" problems again.

Yes, I've tried Chevy Trader and EVERY (I MEAN THAT SERIOUSLY) corvette site on-line. Seems like the dealers (Performance Plus, Pro Team, Mike's and others) own almost all 22,000 '67's.

That and I'm sure people who own them never really want to get rid of them. I wouldn't!

Good Luck Boss with Thursday ... I'm in Michigan, too, maybe I'll see you on the road!

Keep your eyes open for me for a '67!!!

Thanx.

Christina, Have you tried " Hemmings Motor News" ? Its a good source of information. You can find it at bookstores. Good luck!

Worn out looking

I understand your frustration. I too looked long and hard. Hours spent at the computer and hours spent looking at MANY magazines (probably spent 200 bucks!). That's why I finally went for this car. Besides my wife was tired of me spending all the time looking. She finally convinced me to "get one already!" Stay tuned for more info...

If you are both really serious contact someone like Mike Kitain or VettefinderJim (who is a member here) you would have alot better chance finding a real car at a more reasonable price.

I think ProTeam' s prices are high. They try to buy-up all the available cars so they have a monopoly and can charge whatever they like. I also think they have spotters in many different states to grab-up all the cars before the general public finds out the cars are for sale. The Walmart of Corvettes but much more expensive. Supply and demand at work - they want to be the only-one with cars and no price competition. Just the way I see It!

I just bought a 1960 from Pro-Team. It is on a closed carrier on its way to Calf. now. A couple off people in our club in Calif, have purchased from them. No compaints. 100 percent satisfied. Their inventory runs about 250 used vettes all the time. If you cant find what you want there it is not availabe. You cab see what they have available on their site. Good luck WALT

Got Mine!

Just wanted to let you know, I picked up my '65 baby last Thursday and drove it all the way to my garage, without incident! We have had it out about 5 times since then (myself 3 times and my wife twice), and we LOVE it. Very satisfied. It isn't perfect, but I don't really expect perfection from a nearly 40 year old car! I have no problem recommending ProTeam. My salesman was named TC. Let him know I sent you...

Cruise-Fest

Sorry about the delay in response, worm virus. Looking for a convert with a 4-spd 350.

I did get down to Pro-Team and they were nice. It was way cool to see all of those mid-years together. They have four huge buildings FULL of mid-years (and some from the 50's, too.)

Not sure which path to take, just taking it easy now!!!

Thanx for all of the advice. Pro-Team will always be there and I would rather find a personal seller. It just seems right. Keep me in mind if you see a '67 in your travels!!!!

I have a friend that purchased as '69 from ProTeam some years ago. He paid alot for the car, but it was what they sold him. He's been happy. On the down side, now he wants to sell it and it seems he paid more for it years ago then anyone has offered him. They do have a lot of eye candy in one place!
"I've never been there but they say it nice"

67's available

You may wish to check out "cars.com"; they have 14 - 67's on their site at this time. You need to click on the pre-82 search and input the make/model and year that you are looking for. I believe that this site searches all the newpaper adds around the contry and publishes them all in one spot. Good Luck!

As for Pro-Team; I agree with some of the earlier comments that they appear to buy up all the available deals via their spotters and turn around and tack on thousands extra for doing nothing. Unless you can negotiate 5-10K off their asking price then I'd look elsewhere.

I dealt with proteam when i bought my 1954, i even talked to terry, what a bonehead, i got totally ripped off, i wouldn't buy a moped from that idiot..overpriced is an understatement!

he kept the side windows/ bag and ign sheilding, how do i know? because i talked to the previous owner before he stripped it...what a loser

:mad

someone you may want to get ahold of is Mike Allen @ Allen's Stainless Exhaust.
he is located in my home town . Logansport, Indiana.. north central part of the state .. he is in the top 100 corvette restorers in the nation and a very nice guy.. he usually knows where a few mid-year cars are.. in fact, he may even have one or two for sale..

as for pro-team.. they do seem to have a whole lot of quality and rare cars, but their prices do reflect that fact..

also, Allen's has a complete line of aluminized and stainless exhuast systems at the lowest prices around.. check em out @ http://www.allencorvetteexhaustsystems.com or (574)-722-7272

Dealers are in business to make a profit. Expect to pay more than you would for the same car from a private seller. In return, you should get some peace of mind from doing business with someone who has a reputation to protect. Whether you buy from a dealer or private party, do your research beforehand. Arm yourself with as much market knowledge as you can and then negotiate your best deal. Walk away without looking back and learn from the experience.

I can't believe no one has mentioned eBay. Yeah, I know there are some crooks out there too, but I bought my 64 vert from a really nice guy. Just got to get in contact with the seller and ask all the right questions. I was completely satisfied with my purchase and the seller represented the car exactly as it was. Took me 5 months to find the one I wanted.
There are four 67 verts there today, but they are a bit pricey. Just keep looking and you'll find the one you want.
