I recently purchased a 2002 Silver Coupe with 8500 miles on the odometer and have noticed what look like stress fractures on both running light lenses. The fractures are on the back edge of the lenses that face toward the front tires. Is this a common problem. Does anyone else have this problem? The car is still under warranty so hopefully the local cheverolet dealer will fix. Thanks for any help.

I have never seen this or at least wholesale so I would say it is not something that commonly happens to C-5's, but having said that it still should be taken care of under warranty. I have a problem with one of the fog lights the right one in fact (pass. side) looks cloudy or at least differant than the other one only when they are off, when I turn them on and look at them they look the same. I am going to remove the lense and see what the skinney is. Is your problem cracks or stress marks on the inside of the lense or the back side of the houstin itself? Mine is a 2000 and I don't have this at all and I would bet money they have never been replaced.

Thanks for the reply. They are actually cracks in the lenses (kind of like the what you would see if a rock hit it) but the cracks don't look like they were from some sort of impact. They are in the same place on both sides - the edge of the lenses towards the front wheels. It looks like they start from the rounded edges and run about 2 inches from the edge (not really a shattered look, just several straight cracks).
