Can someone tell me what exact headers will fit in the '62? I think Hooker headers #2456-1 will work. They are ceramic coated, which I wanted, and seem to be the right ones. I called Hedman, and Holley, and they gave me completely different numbers, that were for '63 and newer. It's hard to get good help these days. I suppose I could call them back and try again. And what mufflers should I use that will give me a nice throaty sound, but won't be too loud?
I have decided to put a 350/420 hp custom motor in, and I don't want to choke the engine with exhaust manifolds. I'm hoping that the heat inside the engine compartment won't be too much. I am putting in a BeCool radiator with an electric fan that's rated to 500 hp, but the tight engine compartment could probably use more air. And the electric fan is supposed to be in place of the pulley driven fan on the motor.
I'm thinking of ducting the cowl air to the engine, or directly to the carburator, but if I do that, I'll need to limit the air turbulence into the carb. I may need that hood scoop after all. And all this is only good if I'm moving. And not in Arizona, which I may be from time to time. So how do you cool the beast at idle?
Also, what are the biggest tires I can use on the rear without modifying anything? And would that be affected by the use of disc brakes? Any help would be appreciated.
P.S. And thanks to Tammy for the help on the Avatar. But I need to post more often before I can use my own.

Big motor setup

Hi, I replied to your disk brake setup post. It sounds like you are going down the path I have. I built and installed a 383/425hp motor in my car, disk brakes, electric fan ect. I can give you insite on the Be-cool and a ton of other stuff. You can contact me off line, since we live local. My email is awilco@hotmail.com
Best of luck
