Proper Oil Change Procedure

I've been browsing throuogh the previous threads on this topic but want to clarify something. I have not purchased the service manual but intend to. Should the C5 be level side to side and front to back? One says level and another says level side/side and slightly raised in the rear. I like changing my own oil as I know it has been done properly. So, can someone tell me what the service manual says? I sure would appreciate it.

Not certain about your 04, but on my 99 the drain plug is in the front, middle of the pan. So level in both side to side and front to back for me.

I kick mine up in the rear a little!

I jack up the rear of the car while the oil is draining.
