My 99 Corvette had about 54k on it so I thought id change the plugs. It was a good time to see how the AC plugs were burning .On removal saw the gaps at.060 and thought that was kinda wide.Is that a correct gap?The plugs were had a pinkish color ,not coffee tan .Is that common ? It was a good time to change the plug wires since one pulled part on removal.I tried a set of these Pulstar plugs after reading an ad about them .I like the idea of them storing voltage up .I have only driven the car a short ride so far and will check the mileage soon .The car seems to pull good and feels pretty good.Maybe any new plugs would feel that way .I had been getting about21.3 mpg . Ill be curious to see if the new pugs will go above that.

Welcome to CAC. The .06 is the right gap for the original plugs. There are several threads about the plugs, search them and you will find more information about them then you probably ever wonted. I get about 26 MPG average in my 99, but not when I'm having a week moment behind the wheel:lou

Thanks for the info zagger. Its good to know the original plugs had the correct gap.Now I read about this PCM update done at the dealer and was wondering if you had that done and if I would need that .

I've tried the 41-985 plugs but since I'm running a custom tune I chose not to reprogram. I would have lost my tune. Personally I experienced some weaker performance with the new plug, but that could have been because of the tune I'm running. Currently I'm running the NKG T-55 plugs at .055 gap and I'm very happy with them. As for the need to reprogram I was told by C4C5 Specialist (this boards highly regarded Vette guru) that it is recommended but not necessary. The GM TSB is 03.06.04.060A if you wont to upgrade your PCM. Regards, Zig.
