I have to respectfully disagree with your friends assessment of the price as being too high. I am going to make certain assumptions based on what you previously had posted. If this is a real fuel car with all correct components except it has a replacement block, I would reconsider it . Does it have the correct fuel injection unit and distributor? These are worth a lot of money. Is the voltage regulator a "002D"? very hard to find and only used on a 61 315 fuelie. An original Wonderbar radio, even if it needs ovehaul is worth a lot of money. In todays market any C1 that is running and looks half way decent is 35K-40K, without the correct motor. A 61 315hp fuelie that was a 90 percent correct car, recently sold in my neck of the woods for $80,000.:D

I second this thought

A good friend here in California has owned a fawn /fawn 61 fuelie for years, but it was missiing it's injection, air cleauner and correct '519' engine. It has had a 70 LT-1 in it since 1973. Runs great, but..........Anyrate, last winter after doing a new paint and interior, he bought a correct cast dated block, a 320 fuel unit and 914 distributor, air cleaner and had the whole system built as new, complete with a proper re-stamp on the pad. Total cost of the engine, unit, etc and rebuild and the change out instalation was $15750 !! He is in love with the car, and if he sold it, it would take $90k + and above to send it down the highway.
REMEMBER: Rust free chassis.........Unhit body.........complete car. The rest is just rebuilding, and a 61 dated '519' block is not that hard to find. Hopefully the heads, intake, FI unit, distributor, air cleaner generator, radiator, are all the 'originals'

Jim, I agree with your assessment completely. I wouldn't even discuss selling mine for less then 90K either. A complete correct car with a great frame is very difficult to find today.
