What would I need to do to get glass packs on my '78 Corvette? Any modifications necessary? How would I fit them on the Vette?

And where would I order them from?

Thanks! :D

My friend just put cherry bombs on his truck it sounds way too quiet it. It doesnt have really any tone i wouldnt recommend them go with the flowmasters.

Really!?!?!? I thought Cherry Bombs were supposed to be really loud and rumbly.

I agree with atmmac!

You will get more HP out of the flowmasters, because they provide a more correct backpressure that your V8 needs, and it will sound more like a Vette. If you want even louder, you might consider Chambered exhaust, like what Heidi has on her Vette

just did the flowmaster 40s nice rumble in & out of the car .
Cherry bombs had them onmy monte carlo there just noisy ,no real tone & yes you do want minunal back pressure for your engine to work right.

Hmm....so these Flowmaster 40s will be the bassy-ist possible sound I can get out of my Vette? I know chambered kicks @$$, but I don't have that much money to do something like that now. I was figuring I could just change out my stock mufflers to get some rumble out of her more than usual. :D

I think BobChad has flowmasters on his 77 and they sound sweet. I don't recall the 'series' he has, but 40 is sticking in my mind...
Changing just the mufflers is pretty easy and non-invasive.
I sure wish you could swing the chambered. I purchased mine used for 1/2 the price in the catalogs from a CAC member here. Check out ebay?

Go with the Flows...I love mine.

Gotta say to go with the Dynomax Ultra Flo. You can look clear through the thing, but it still behaves well at lower revs. Qiuet enough to drive around town without getting pulled over, but when those secondaries come open, man is it fun :)

Yuur catalytic converter is already giving you more than enough backpressure for proper performance. Open up those mufflers to let the thing flow well, when it needs to :)

I would go with 2-chambered "original flow" 40 series flowmasters, they will be pretty loud and have a great tone. How loud they are and what they sound like will really depend on you engine setup, rear gears, if you have headers/true duals, and the size of pipe.

If you get the 40s and then want to quiet them down later on, you can add an H-pipe to the system. If you get the 40s and still want louder then you can get Dynomax race bullet mufflers, they are REALLY LOUD and only for race use, but I saw people run them on the streets( they are very cheap also).

I have Dynamax on my '79. It gives it a BAAADDDD sound. My car was voted one of the best sounding in my club. They have a model that will bolt right up in place of the existing pipes. It sounds and runs much better with the 'off-road' exhaust kit (duals).:Steer

I have dynomax on my impala it sounds really really good. Kids here me coming up the street and just say here comes andy! It sounds really cool my vette is stock and quiet!

A lot of you guys seem to say dynomax, and a lot of you say flowmaster. I'm split. :( Which is the loudest out of those two and will give you the rumble-ist muscle car sound?

BTW, she is all stock. No headers, just exaust manifolds. Everything is bone stock. Just want a little more muscle rumble. :D

I have flowmasters and they give a nice rumble but I also have headers so it is a little of both. But flowmasters are a good start.

hello, which is louder, chambered pipes or the 40's . i like the idea of chambered. but at some point it can be too muchs. like straight 2" pipes on my harley.

just cruzin'
