Question about Idle

I thought I would just throw this one out to everyone. My 81 runs pretty good but compared to the smoothness of my modern day car with all the electronics to monitor the engine, the Vette I feel idles a little rough. Does this seem normal? Just wondering how smooth your stock 81 idles?

Well, not so smooth that I'm happy with it. When cold I think a glas of water wouldn't stay full on top. When hot a coin will not stay on his side on the engine but the water will stay (for the most part ) in the glas.

Mine runs pretty smooth but modern electronics do a lot for idle quality. Im with peer on this one.

Mine idles great, and starts great!!!2 pumps on the gas pedal and she lites up!!!!every time!!
every once in a while she will idle high (+1000 rpms) but hit the gas and she clears out!!!
