My 2000 convertible is missing the center section of rubber that hangs down under the front bumper. I went to the local Chevy dealer and told the parts guy what I needed. I brought the part home - but can't figure out if I got what I need. Does anyone have the GM part number for what I need? What does the part look like? How do you install it?

Are you referring to the air dam?? There are 3 pieces, and the one in the middle is hinged to swing if you are to low. If that is what you mean, I beleive the pieces are very inexpensive!

The part they gave me has a bracket on each end and two springs in the middle. How does it attach? What do the springs do?

Hi there,
There should be a plastic deflector attached to the spring area, and the springs give you flex pressure on the deflector.
As for installation, there are missing the 2 aluminum center sections. You must also have those, in addition to the bracketry you have already.
4 10mm bolts are used on the installation.
1 on each end, and 2 toward the center of the black bracket.
