Question for 78 pace car owners

Does anyone know if the thin red ring that circles around the '78 pace car aluminum rim painted on, or a decal?

I always thought that was a very nice design touch and now I'm looking at my wheels and wondering...hmmmm.

I've only had my car for a month and it's already in SC where I'm moving in a few weeks, but from memory...

I believe it's painted on - but very well done, almost like a stencil was used.

I have been looking at the Pace Car decals on the internet and I have found the pinstriping decals for the body and hood, but I haven't seen any for the wheels. This leads me to believe even stronger that it's painted on.
