I have been wanting to swap the factory battery for an Optima battery after reading some of the posts about battery leaks. Is there any problem with doing a battery swap? Specifically, does the power outage that occurs after disconnecting the original battery require resetting any computer/guage/DIC/etc. parameters? Or, is the battrey swap a "plug-and-play" activity?

Hi there,
Posts regarding battery leakage were many, however, it will never apply to you.
You have an 03, and this year is equipped from the factory with a different type than 97-00. You have a better designed battery, called an AGM. This is Absorbant Glass Mat. There is no liquid acid in this type of battery, so it will never leak.
This battery has been much more reliable than any I have seen yet in Corvette.
While you could purchase and install an Optima, there is really no benefit over the battery which you have now.

c4c5specialist,

Thank you for your reply. It is a happy circumstance to learn about an improvement that GM made in response to a previous problem area.
