Any idea of what adhesive to use to keep the decorative rail from poppping out on the armrest of the driver's door panel?

It wasn't held on by adhesive only the tangs that go thru the door.. Maybe one of them has broken... Dave..
 
Remove door panel.......bend tang

The correct way is to remove the door panel and bend the tang. Chances are the tang is broken, or the vinyl where it use to be securred has rotted away. Al Knoch in El Paso, Texas makes door panels including all the metail trim that is inserted in the 65-67 panels. Your original panel metal trim can be repaired as well. Years ago we could only fix what we had.

You may want to clean the window runs of all the old harden grease and re-lube as long as you have the pannel off. Sure makes the windows go up and down easier.
