I am in the process of hard wiring my V1 to the fuse box under the passengers floor board. Where is the best place in that area to connect the ground to.
Thanks........

But if there are other cars on the road and he lights someone up your gonna pick up the residual usually. A radar beem spreads pretty wide in just a couple of hundred feet so there should be something to detect. Laser on the other hand is pretty narrow so I dunno how well they work.
In real life, the cops on the move usually leave the unit running and everyone in the county knows where they are. The stationary traps will get the lone speeder or a one or two out of a pack and if you're hanging back the 8500 or V1 will give you plenty of warning while they pick off the leaders. I'm sure you guys have plenty of tricks but until those tricks are actually used out here on the road, the V1 is worth every dollar.motorman_mp3 said:It all boils down how educated the cop is,and how much he trains with his equipment.
I am not trying to bash detectors I am just letting you know that if a cop knows his stuff, that a detector can be beat every time.

That will be worth the admission by itself!motorman_mp3 said:I will bring my laser and doppler to Bg in June and give classes on how a detector can be beat. With one car or a group of cars.

I saw this one and I was gonna pass on it, Patrick, but motorman_mp3 grabbed it! I'll bet mmp3 even knows what the acronyms 'radar' and 'laser' mean... and why lasers are poison...CORed91 said:Not to hijack this thread, but I've noticed a definate trend: whenever someone includes "radar detector" in a thread title, it acts almost like a lightning rod for anyone employed in a law enforcement capacity, attracting them to the thread. And they usually post that they don't like them. Interesting. :L
I think you've set your standards too high. Professionals who use the equipment aside I'm always impressed when others realize that radar and laser are acronyms. If they know what they mean then thats just icing.Mac said:I saw this one and I was gonna pass on it, Patrick, but motorman_mp3 grabbed it! See, Mac, I knew you LEO's wouldn't fail to comment a thread about detectors, be they RAdio Detection And Ranging or the Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation variety. As for the poison part, doesn't it have something to do with the EM-field around a laser-generating device, and how it can cause cancer?Mac said:I saw this one and I was gonna pass on it, Patrick, but motorman_mp3 grabbed it!
