The Delco/Bose radio and cassette player in my c-4 is finally giving out. Can anyone suggest a good replacement or is it possible to have this one rebuilt? Does anybody have a good one to sell?

Since you said it was the player and not the speakers, you can have it rebuilt by Dr. Don. Just google his site. I had my 94 done and it took about one week. His site also provides a diagram on removing the unit, and it is not hard at all. I spent the extra $$ to have the CD unit upgraded to play computer generated CDs, and it was well worth it. If the radio itself is going, I am not sure what components need to be fixed, but you can e-mail Dr. Don about it. I am sure that others on the site will suggest alternatives as to repair sites and other than OEM replacement units, but I wanted to keep my 94 stock. Hope this helps.

Thank You for your response however when i google dr.don all i get is real doctors of medicine. Could you tell me the entire email address. Also i heard of a company called ecklers that rebuilds radios. Have you ever heard of them? Nobody seems to have a suggestion as to a direct replacement.

If you go this site www.doctordon.com. you get a medical doctor. Doctor Don is located in Texas.

Best way to get to his web site is to goggle Doctor Don's Corvette Radio Restoration. This will give you the link that somehow is the same as the one above. Once you get to his site, you can e-mail him thru the link or call him. I highly recommend his service. Hope this helps.

Bose C/D player

i had Dr Don's re-build my Bose CD/Cassette player a few years back and he did an awesome job. he also re-built the amplifiers for the speakers as well. when they start to crackle, it's usually the amps. he said the transistors they used back then weren't very good, so he puts in good stuff. i asked him his background and he said he worked for Sanyo for 20 years, then went to work for himself. my Vette is a 1992 Coupe. i would highly recommend him.:thumb

Just got my radio back from Dr Dons last week, while I haven't tested it yet (going in this afternoon), he was a nice guy to deal with, reasonably priced, and very timely.
