Stop and think a second...... It'll be so freaken Loud ..It won't matter ..and becides...Your cheaten....!!!!:r :D

It has auxiliary jacks for a CD player. That is where the IPod plugs in. Just set the head unit to the auxiliary setting and away you go. I tried the IPod cassette adaptor on my home stereo (Vette is in storage) as well and it works. But I figure a direct cable link will give a better quality of sound.

Another amazing feature about the upgrade I had done is this.......when the radio senses sound coming in through the AUX input cable it AUTOMATICALLY switches to that source and silences the radio. WOW!

When the AUX input no longer is sensing sound, it AUTOMATICALLY reverts back to the radio. It also requires 15 seconds of silence before switching back to the radio to allow for dead air between songs.

I may hook up a microphone so I'll have help when yelling across to VNV, at the stop-lights in Bowling Green. ;LOL

Truly an amazing piece. :beer

Thanks Paul

I was thinking of the same setup but I did not know if the KH unit had auxilary inputs. Are the other RCA jacks outputs for an amp?

Thanks
Tom

The other two RCA ports are labelled "Line Out." I would imagine that is for the output signal to an amplifier. (Where is Barry when I need him?)

Cool. Thanks! :beer

So, I got it all back together this afternoon, and Z28Canuck dropped by for a listen.

Compared to the original 5-watts mono, 180-watts stereo sounds mighty good. And, the knobs, push-buttons, the dial and how they all function are completely original. Amazing.

Yeah, I was pretty amazed when mine came back too. Much better than the original. Not sure about yours, but with my wimpy sidepipes, I can still hear it when I'm cruising.

Ok here's a question.... I like those black knobs on Heavens 67 radio..Will they fit...... and are the the same shaft design as my 65 Radio.

I like the Black Centers and the Black trim around the Knob....

Anyone?????????????????????

yes Paul, that is exactly what they are for

sorry, I would have answered you earlier but I didn't hear your question over Bob and Mark yelling at each other to be heard over their radios and sidepipes (and open headers). :D

Mark, I'd be very surprised if they didn't fit. It's rare when they ever changed the shaft desgn on 2-post radios, there is no real reason to change it. Chances are you could take the knobs off a brand new 2-post radio being sold currently on the market and they most likely would also fit.
The posts on the Vette radios is the same as the posts on any other radio back in those days except to fit in the vette they rearranged the layout to work vertically

I'm going from memory from here but...doesn't one knob have a sloted screw holding it on the shaft ....and one has a allen set screw..??

Or..Am I thinking of the heater control nobs...?

well, to be honest Mark I haven't taken the radio out of my car yet (planned for next winter to be rebuilt) but I've personally never come across any posted radio with an allen setscrew holding the knobs on, only a slot in the shaft so the knob and turn the shart and a friction fit holding it on - usually a small metal spring plate in the knob that provides the friction fit.
i've never worked on radios as old as those in our cars though so I may be completely wrong. The earliest I can recall working on would be early to maybe mid-70's era so things may have changed and be different on our cars.

Everyone wants to build a '67. ;)

Yes, those are what '67 radio knobs look like, and they're held on to the shaft (one side flat) with Allen set-screws.

Of course, then you'll have to change the heater, temperature, wiper, lighter and headlight knobs too, to match.

I know the deal with the spring tabs in radio knobs .....having repaired many... but for some reason ..I think the Vette knobs have set screws as posted above...

Ok......Get up and run out to the Gee-Rage.. and look at your knobs.. Turn them and see if you see any set screws....

NOW..!!!!
;LOL

well, good thing I learned about the setscrews on the midyear radios! I would have tried to just yank the things off and probably pulled the whole shaft out of the radio......... ;LOL

well, I did say I didn't have any experience with radios this old....... :)
