If Midyear happens to read this I would like to know who shortened his intake and how much it cost?
Also if you know how much height is needed on the hood I would appreicate you letting me know.

Thanks
Chuck

Chuck,

One of my best buds is a fantastic machinist and he and I modded and built the shortened intake. We still have all our patterns, pics and drawings so cost to replicate it with your intake I would estimate at around $650-700. A 65-66 BB hood will fit over the modded intake with only trimming of the under hood support braces.

Car was at carlisle and I am sure many CAC members saw the intake on it as it was displayed in the Chips Choice display. As a small foot note, it was driven up from florida, and averaged almost 20mpg for the trip!

Just let me know if you would like to have your intake modded, no problem for us to get it done.

Midyear,

I really appreciate the offer to help, another question also is how much did you shorten the manifold? I am wondering if it would be easier to raise the bulge in the hood then shorten the manifold. But I don't want the bulge to seem to high or out of place. Also I was thinking if I raise the bludge up say 2-3 inches I could maybe incorporate a duct(scoop) into the front like the new vettes for cold air. Since you have been through this I would appreciate your or anyones ideas on that?

I will let you know about shortening the manifold soon.

Thanks
Chuck
