Rattle in my Hurst Shifter Z06

I had a loud rattle in my after market Hurst shifter in my 2001 Z06
This rattle in 3rd gear was the worst. My 2000 C5 with the Hurst Shifter was much quieter. A response to this issue from a owner was to cut a tennis ball in half, put a hole for the shaft, remove the shift knob, the leather shift boot, place the half a tennis ball down over the rubber boot (on the Hurst Shifter) replace Leather /knob. Well so much for HIGH TEK IT WORKS!! It has been two weeks, and not a rattle, in 5 gears a slight rattle in 3rd gear. Ted

Well, you could also try cutting in half a soccer ball, or even a volleyball, and mounting it on the shifter.

I've found the stock shifter rattles not at all.
