Why don't guys do more changing of rear end gearing?
We hear much about S/C & more, but little about changing rear ends.
Is it because there are more changes that can be made and are ongoing such as tuning, headers, & more once a S/C is added? And similarly, are there more possibilities for additional incremental changes when changing throttle bodies, intake & exhaust manifolds, valves & springs, and other component parts?
Is it because we can't show a 4.11 rear, whereas we can show a S/C, intake, headers, and other stuff?
With six gear transmissions that include two over-drive gears, it seems a rear end gear change would be a performance upgrade with little negative impact upon mundane aspects such as fuel mileage and engine wear.
