Scuffed the left side of the rear bumper/facia. Needs to be resprayed (mil. yellow and clear coat). Does the body shop typically remove the entire facia and repaint or do they spot paint on the car? TIA :)

YOU better hope they leave it on and blend the paint,But that depends on where and how much damage there is. I have heard that blending Mel. yel. is quite difficult. Make sure have A REAL PRO do it!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!:cry

Thanks.

Any other painters or body people have an opinion?

There are about 6, 1" scratches through to primer on the side, back to the rear edge. I can see sanding and repainting the side without removing the facia but I have seen some shops repainting the entire facia in this case.

I thought about removing the facia (lots of nuts) and taking the piece to the dealer paint shop for repair. I would like to do this since I will be working on the car and don't want the car tied-up at the dealer.

So my question is: Can they repair the facia off the car? Thanks guys. :)

Talk to your body shop. They usually remove the facia and bumper covers and paint them off the car. Your idea sounds good.

I'm dropping mine off Tuesday to have the frt and rear replaced, I'll let ya know what they say......

BEST TO SHOOT IF OFF THE CAR ACCORDING TO MY BODYSHOP GUY............oops sorry caps..........
