So when I finally got the rear latch to open on my 1998 C5’s targa top, it popped open and a piece of rubber flew out. It looked like a little round plug with a small solid tube like piece of rubber about an inch long coming out of the center. The piece has finished edges so it is not torn off. I closed the latch to see if it still worked and of course it doesn’t. Now the top is securely locked on so I can still drive the car, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to get the top off to either repair or replace the latch. Does anyone know how replace this rubber piece or how to get the top off to replace the latch.
