How can I tell what rear my 93 auto has in it. I can't find the rpo codes, and don't want to shell out the 75 or 80 bucks the Corvette Museum wants thanks Jim

Old fashion way is to take off the Diff cover during your regular fluid maintence and count the splines. Other than that someone here may be able to help you out without the procedure.

How many RPM's do you run at 70 MPH? You can figure it backwards from there. (or even easier, someone else can reply with their rpm and axle, if it is the same then you know what you have)

Jim D,
Ok if you have the 2.59 gears it should run something like this.
In Drive, 45mph = 1520rpm, 65mph = 2200rpm
In OverDrive, 65mph = 1540rpm, 84mph=2000rpm
That is an approximation.
If you're 200-400rpm higher in OD then it's probably the 3.07.
Graham

You could just jack up the rear end, mark the drive shaft, and then turn your rear wheels one complete turn. All you have to do is count how many times the shaft spins. (A string taped, and marked for each rotation helps with that fractional part.)
