1966,and a 1962 thats almost complete
Well as I have allready said I have my rear back from the rebuilders So I am making a list of parts needed to put in the rear end I have never touched the trailing arms except for a quick touch up of the paint,I NEVER WANT TO DO THE REAR SUSPENTION AGAINso I figure I shall invest in a set of rebuilt trailing arms now and neer have to touch the rear again,Any recomendations I had thought they ran around 1000.00 aside and I just seen an advertizement from ZIP at around 400.00 per side Any recomendations ?

Larry, I trust Bair's and would think that you could by them outright. I have talked to Yogi at Carlisle and he is very genuine.

Do what I did!

Take the stock ones out..

The Bushings will just press out

The old rubber will FALL OUT

sand blast the old ones & repaint

get new Urethane inserts ( $99.00 ish for the kit.).no machine shop work needed

And put em back in.

Sorry vig I correct my self I did re install the new bushing,
(I actually had to purchase the pressing tool)

Blue stripe I will try bairs
By the way I am in a different hotel this year for carlilse,We are in the ramada limited with hopes of relocating to the clarion See you soon Only 92 more days to go see you guys there

The spindle support castings are dated, but you can't see the dates with the car assembled, and they aren't checked in Flight Judging. The best trailing arm/bearing/spindle guys are Bair's and Van Steel.

I know what you mean when you say you never want to redo your trailing arms and spindles again,...I just finished a rebuild on my '63 this week and it surely wasn't my idea of fun! Had to replace one control arm side(the old one had a slight bend) and reshim and thoroughly clean everything and repack the bearings. Everthing went back up snug and tight but it was a a challenge! I just did my entire suspension and the car drives better by far then new. You should check out the heavy duty trailing arms (I went with the offset arms so I could use bigger wheels and more meat) they are much stronger then the originals and they come with polyurethane bushings. I got mine from Ecklers with a 20% discount for less then $400 /pair. Remember, save all original parts cause you never know! Good luck.

Best regards,
Gerry
