It turns out, a lot of friends from the other site don't know where the "vacationers" went. In one thread, Paint Daddy or Desert Dawg asked where everyone went. I should have e-mailed them, but I didn't.

An obvious option is to have one of us (not me, I'm on a Mac) e-mail the regulars who don't yet know what happened.

Another option is to post on FCR that some of the gang is now at CAC. But I don't know if they'll allow that. If not, we could try something like the following:

"Topic: Didn't mean any offense
"Post: Earlier, I attempted to make a witty commentary about Mac and 67Heaven's move to www.corvetteactioncenter.com Another member e-mailed me a message saying the post was in poor taste.

"Upon rereading, I can see that my wording could be misleading, so I deleted it. Both Mac and 67Heaven have assured me they took no offense. Sorry for any misunderstanding."

Another consideration is whether we (specifically Mac) even want a public notice (where Mr Restring reads) about his migration here.

I'm just throwing out ideas, here. My toes are tappin' either way.

Hi Mike,

Don't for a minute imagine that "he" doesn't know. I have an incredible library of anecdotal information from others whom he has denigrated, threatened and plain-and-simple irritated.

I too have wanted to let everyone know where we are, thus my notice on my own site's front page....
http://www.computersupport.ca/Restoration/Corvette.htm

I have resisted the urge to mass-mail any C1/C2/C3 guys over there who may not have found us. I guess I feel some loyalty to Troy in spite of his apparent lack of interest in us. The only information I have provided is to those who have taken the trouble to contact me or have visited my site.

However, more are coming all the time. :beer
I like it here. I hope you will too.

It really wasn't had to find out where y'all went. luckily, the ID's for the most part have remained the same, and since 67Heaven loves to start threads, his well known handle was an easy spot for me. I am not on a mac and will send a few IM's to some of the others. :cool

I wasn't thinking that people would be lured away from CF. Personally, I'll always be there. There are just too many friends there that I won't leave.

I'm thinking more in terms of the FCR guys who are really in the dark about what's going on. A lot of guys just don't have the time to do the detective work to figure out where you guys went. I didn't until Jeff and Mac e-mailed me, and those were only in response to the Mr Restring thread. John McGraw didn't until I e-mailed him.

I don't want to push the whole issue, but at minimum, I think Chuck and some others should be advised.

popped out some IM's to a few CF people to let them know about this board. 58mike just let me know if you want me to contact anyone specific :cool

I never contacted anybody from the old forum,
Anybody who contacts me off forum I exspain I am spending my time on this board and to stop by and say hello.

As 67heaven has stated I also did not want to be vindictive or effect troy in any way.If anybody ask tell them (Im over here now)
No hard feelings.

And I am sure if the entire fcr c1 and c2 board were to leave it would slightley effect the post count of the entire board. Our voice was too tiny to be heard on that board

I think most people are finding the site, it sure looks
deserted at the other. Anyway, good to see everyone.

Hey Fella's !!!

I made it over here. I was "Grey Ghost", over there and someone already had that ID here. So, you will have to get use
to my new handle.

I've been a CF member for many years, almost since the start. Not trying to slam them, or anything. But, there was always games going on. It never hit our "old Corvette" section until the Doc. screwed it up. The games were usually in the C5 area, dealing with free parts for good writeups from the well know C5 guys, among other things.

Grey Ghost/Chainshot

Chainshot (the old CF Grey Ghost), Mike Walker (the old Mikes64) and midyear and all others I may have forgotten to say "Hi" to over the last few days.....Hi!!!

It sure is good to see you guys.

Hope you can all take part in the LIVE CHAT SESSION next Tuesday evening.
http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23764

P.S. You gotta tell me where Chainshot came from. :D

HVN,

Allright, just to make this a little fun....knowing how much data you have on cars. What can you come up with for "Chainshot" ?

Hint: It has NOTHING to do with cars :)

I'll explain it - after you give it a shot :)

Hey, Mike!!

Like others, I roam back and forth, although I have not particular feelings about Troy one way or the other. I continue to post up the CCC adventures and photos there also; at least for now. I would sure like to be sure some of the "fun guys"....VNV, achapman, and others...at least know about this site. What this C1-C2 forum is becoming is an early, young, and vibrant version of the other place....and I was also on that one since its early days. The CAC certainly has a lot of great links and other internal stuff going for it, and.....damn, but it loads and moves fast on my Mac!!!! :bu

Its nice to see good guys drifting in and bringing their knowledge with them.

It wouldn't have anything to do with cannon fire would it? I know that ships used to shoot lengths of chain to tear up the sails of other ships.
:r

Mike, I think the guys at the FCR know where we are and they are discussing coming over here. Apparently the sound of silence over there is starting to hit home. Those administrators have no one to blame but themselves. FXT :beer

John McGraw gets the cigar !

During the American Civil War. Many people came up with crazy inventions they tried to sell to the War Department. One of these crazy inventions was two cannons placed side by side and the cannonball in each cannon was chained together. When fired, the inventor said it would cut a path of anything in front of it. What he didn't think about was the cannons NOT firing at the precise same moment. Thus, resulting in one cannonball coming out and spinning round and round wiping out anything around it. ie; the gun crew :Roll

Ghost,
Cool screen name but it seems like the analogy speaks volumes that you don't deserve. So you are like the buddy that c&*& blocks ya by that screen name. He sets you up then cuts you down at the knees. For some reason when I saw it the first thing I thought of was Naval terminology. But hey I was a squid for 6 yrs. Dave.

Don't worry about Mac, he's a big boy and can take care of himself!! :) Besides, 67Heaven is absolutely right- Mr. Restring (I love that!) has a cottage here on CAC and I have no doubt he's taking notes as we speak.

I can't believe someone objected to your thread, Mike. That's just sad!!

Seriously, I'm glad that this vacation has turned out as well as it has. If this option hadn't presented itself, there were other options open to me and if there are further problems, I will not hesitate to take action.

I wasn't kidding in the comment which is posted on 67Heaven's website; it was the choices (or lack thereof) by the CF admin which made up my mind.
