I let quite a few people know where we were and would expect to see a few more over tonight. I Emailed Jerry Clark and invited him over as well. I do not know if Rob has a font that Jerry can read, but Troy was making no effort to get a large font back after the switch.
:w

Hey, I'm over here too. :) Check out my post count. Not much "shaking" at the other place. I still belong. Haven't posted for a week or so. Good to see so many "refugee's" over here. This is a neat site. Chuck G, aka Chuck Gongloff

Notice how I tried to hide my previous identity. :)

John,

The more I reflect on the situation, the more I realize the C1, C2, and FCR were of little interest to the management over there.

That was made crystal clear by the complete lack of comment or feedback and yet there seems to be plenty of time to develop their new website for the Cadillac XLR. :eyerole

I can see the trend over there........C5 and C6 interests, Cadillacs and T-shirts. That's okay. I understand that, when you're in business, you go where the numbers are.

That leaves CAC for the rest of us with these "old" cars. :CAC

Hvn,
I suspect that you are right! I never did even get a response from Troy when I sent an Email. I guess our old cars just don't bring in much revenue! I sent Rob an IM to see if we had the ability for Jerry to participate on this forum.

Hi 67Heaven. I did occasionally post on the FCR but mostly lurked. There was so much good advice (and humor) sometimes it was tough to get a word in. I may be the only guy in Colorado who doesn't belong to the CCC. :D

John, I made a post to George D over there 2 months ago about getting the Jerry Font back. He said they were working on it, but by now I'm not holding my breath. Patrick

Well, the C-2 section here was fairly quiet, I thought. But since the "mass migration", the thread count and post counts have easily quadrupled (so far!). Man, this place is jumpin' now!:beer

I can't speak for the CF, however, I will say this in regards to my own personal view of the older generations of Corvette and how they relate to the CAC: they are just as important as the C5s, and the C4s. I have been wanting, for a long time, to see the traffic through the C1 and C2 forums pickup to the levels of the C3, C4 and C5 forums. The problem has always been that the C4 and C5s have a larger following given their production numbers and age vs. the C1 and C2 generations.

My level of support will always be equivalent for all generation forums - not just certain ones. I think you can probably see that in the start of an NCRS forum here as well as Mid-Atlantic NCRS Regional forum, the new Owner Information Center, etc.

As for Jerry and his required fonts, I've talked to John about it and I will see what I can do.

Last but not least, I not only try to support the NCRS here at the Corvette Action Center - I've been a member since the mid-1990s.

Damn, now I'm starting to sound like a Minoxidil commercial! :L

This site definately seems to be a lot more active.....good to see a great group here:)

Rob,

We're liking it here more all the time. Just having the Site Admin posting in this section says a lot. :beer
Honestly, I probably won't be posting here often as I have never owned an older Corvette and all of my own experience is with the C4 generation. I will however, pop in from time to time and read through some of the threads.

I may not own an older generation Corvette, but I do have an appreciation for them. :)

Rob,

I think that most vette owners have a soft spot for all the years and models, some particular models are just more exciting to some folks than others;)

Good to see you here too, '67 Heaven. Thanks for the welcome!

It's been hard to get a steady flow of threads in the C1 and C2 Forums since the start. Although we have had some very dedicated members we just didn't have the numbers to keep a good flow going. Most were pretty well entrenched in other forums but it's obvious that persistance and perpetual developement of a superior quality site by Rob is paying off at last.

When you have been around here a while you will see that this site is continually evolving and you will wonder how Rob has the time to do so much. It's a never ending quest to make this the absolute best Corvette site on the net for all generations of Corvettes. I'm glad Rob is so dedicated and open minded and that he never seems to run out of ideas.

Personally, I'm thrilled at the influx of new members in these old Corvette forums. I like to talk about all Corvette but I really love the old ones. I can only see things getting better here.

C1 & C2

Over at that udder place, they combined the C1 and C2 forums because of the lower traffic volume. All tolled, it seemed like a logical combination as most of the guys shared common interest. There was a separate forum called Factory Correct Resto which was rather unique. Questions and threads were more than just simple restoration and NCRS standards as most of the guys appreciated a well built Corvette, regardless of vintage. A sense of humour was considered a prerequisite. Many of the recent joiners, including myself, hanged around in FCR and C1-C2 both.

I own a C3 but I certainly appreciate the C2 & C1 which is why I've always gravitated to these Forums over the C3 and newer ones, where guys seem to want to make things go faster regardless of originality (not that there's anything wrong with that :)) so I'll likely stick to C2 and C1 on the CAC.

We do have a general restoration forum here. If I'm not mistaken, last time I checked in on that one, it was kind of slow. As for the factory correct restoration, I just figured members could use either the General Restoration forum, or the NCRS forum - since most factory correct restorations follow along with NCRS guidelines. :)

I see what you mean about slow- 5 threads in the last month. Well, if you want to move the General Restoration Forum up and place it, say, just below C1, we might start using it..... but let's face it- I'm lazy. If I have to scroll all the way down there to find it, I might never check it! :D
