Refinishing aluminum wheels

The original wheels on my 85 are scruffy looking, stains and little pitts, no mechanical damage.

Should I get them re-machined or polished smooth? Seems to be more polishers around than there are machinists.

How do polished wheels look???? Opinions please!

Depending on what you are looking for, you could swap your wheels for a chrome dipped set from the likes of Mid America or Corvette America. I think they run about $600 and you have to send them your old set as a core.

Hey Ron ,same thing with my 90.Used something called airplane stripper..learned that here... removes the clear coat ,then any aluminem (sp)? polish.alot of work but looks good and cheaper than new wheels
