Can the IAC and TPS be disconnected from the TB, then the IAC removed from the TB without causing any harm to clean the IAC?

yes it can be. i need to do the same to mine. don't ask me how cause i haven't done it yet but i'm sure someone will chime in and help.

but once you get it off use injection cleaner and a tooth brush to clean the black gunk out of it.

someone will chime in and tell ya how to do it soon i'm sure :)

Exploded view shows IAC threading...

Thanks Mad-Mic for chiming in.

There's an exploded view of the TB in the Learning Center showing the IAC threading into the TB. My thinking is if it's got a rough idle ONLY, the IAC receive the voltage that controls the idle then by simply disco'ing the named parts then unthreading and cleaning the IAC, the reinstalling the problem will go away.

My questino is this...
Will I have to reset the TPS and IAC?

Here is the exploded pic of the throttle body.

Here is the procedure for adjusting the IAC and TPS.

There is a procedure for resetting the IAC after removal, cleanup and reinstallation. You DO have to reset the TPS if you remove it. Both of these procedures are explained in the article.

Please be advised, the Corvette Action Center Knowledgebase is currently offline. We are working to rectify the situation as quickly as possible. Please check back later.

I honestly cannot tell, are you serious? :confused

It is 8 below zero here headed for 20 below tonight. The vette is in the back garage with no hope of seeing the road till late March.:cry You wonder if I am serious, maybe about to lose it would be more like it. :Silly I can only pray for an early spring. But there is a light out there. Nascar comes back in Feb.:upthumbs The bright side. not getting many miles racked up on the vette this way, and saving on insurence.:D

The blame goes to I don't know ,not me and I did not do it.:r

Well is this a california flood thing:Buttslap ?

GWinter, my question was directed towards redeasysport's statement about the links not working. However, your statement about getting a Warning: Smarty error caused even more confusion. Now I probably have the Boss wondering about me again. :hb

Now, what's NOT working?? :confused

Okay, when I clicked on them right after I saw that you posted them, and stated that I was embarrassed because I forgot to mention the CAC's contribution to the procedure, the links worked for me. So, I did not re-click them today. Now they do not work, so I see.

People, please be specific as to times and dates when these things crop up, or else communication breaks down.

Now I can go back and add to the question I posed to Rob and the rest of the crew.
