Hello all.
Sometimes I just get these wild hairs. Has anyone pulled the L98 for an LT-1 or LS-1?? If so, what challenges were presented and how about cost of motor and RnR? My 91 has 93000 ticks and I just want more ponies!

probably cheaper to rebuild your engine with performance in mind. you can get more HP out of a modified L98 than a stock LT1 or LS1 anyway.

I recently had to rebuild my motor in my 1987. If i had to do it all over again i would have waited a little bit till I had more money and I would have really done it right and made it bad. My opinion just build the L98 to the guils.

How unique!!!!:L

Recommend you think more specifically about what you want to use the car for and talk to some great builders, like Speed-O-Motive, in Santa Fe Springs. They can help narrow the thought process. Be advised, though, that a SMOG legal screaming L98, is difficult to achieve. The real challenge (cost) lies in getting the ECM reprogrammed. I know; man, do I know!

Other options include headers, for a nice bump in power or forced induction, for which, a chip might be more readily available.

Where in SoCal? :w
