Replace top or vinyl window?

The vinyl window in my ’88 is so yellowed I can not see though it. I have attempted to use multiple products to “polish” it but it is beyond repair.
The top is in perfect condition, and I would hate to replace it just for the window.
Can just the vinyl window be replaced?

To my knowledge, the vinyl window cannot be replaced. At least, that was what I was told years ago when we had an '88 with a less than perfect back window. Things may have changed.

:eyerole Figures...I have an old issue of corvette fever that covers replacing a convertible top and they rank it a 5 out of 5 on the difficulty scale.
Thanks for the reply.

I don't see why an auto repair shop can't just cut out and replace the window itself. In fact they should be able to re-engineer it using a zipper so you can replace it more easily later. I had that done (for $75) with my Jeep side curtains rather than buy new ones for $200+.

That’s what I was hoping. An Upholstery shop maybe?

exactly. An upholstery shop did my jeep side curtains. Access is an issue with the vette. The Jeeps curtains sould be easily removed and left for repair. The Vette top may have tobe don in place, though the entire top can be removed and left. Some else here may be able to comment on top removal. It shouldn't be that difficult. Re-alighment may be a factor. WTH someone put the top on, someone else can take it off. There's an old simian proverb: What one fool can do ... another can. If you don't already have a factory shop manual - get one from Helms, inc; or on e-bay - for your year. It's worth it just to learn more about your car.

I had my rear window replaced a couple years ago by an upholstery shop. They did a good job but wasn't cheap, maybe because it was a vette. I asked if they could put in a glass window but they told me it would be cheaper to buy a new top so I went with vinyl since my canvas top was in good condition.
