Replacing Rear Carpet

I pulled the carpet out of the rear, including the piece that comes up at from the floor to the storage compartments, and found these two blocks under the carpet but not attached to anything. They appear to be the same as the rubber stops that go under the hood to absorb the force when you close the hood.

Does anyone know what these are and whether they are part of something in the back interior of the car?

if they are what came out of my 82 there stuffed between the rear fiberglass door jamb piece and the pillar frame, I never replaced mine so I dont have a clue of there exact location, but they are probably to isolate vibration or something
