I have a 91 and I have only been able to get the cars actual mileage once (since I have owned it). When I press the trip button it just goes back to "0" and shows no mileage. When pushing it again it show trip mileage. When key turned to on it will not show and with parking lights it will not show either. Has anyone else had this problem?

I'm not an expert, but i assume you have a bad dash cluster and if taken out and have it rebuild and that the odometer will be switched and if not, the PCM continues to record the milage. ;shrug

You have some Ground and Connection problems!!:thumb
Start by cleaning every ground connection on the engine and chassis Including Neg Battery cable at both ends!!:thumb:thumb

Dont mean to hi-jack the post, but out of curiosity, and having similiar problems, how many ground connections should I be looking for?

There will be 3-4 behind the battery, depending year model a couple at the front cross member in front of the engine,1 on each frame rail right below the Head lamps by the horns,1-3 on the frame rail below the A/C housing, ground strap behind the battery going to the back of the engine block with 3-5 others from the main engine harness,a couple in the back on the rear frame rails, and possibly under the kick panels inside!! Best bet is to get a FSM for your vehicle and start checking them!!:thumb:thumb:thumbBetter than 90% of electrical problems I find on these cars are caused by ground problems!! High Resistance grounds cause feedback and make electronic and electrical systems do weird things!!:thumb

:beer

Isn't it possible for the factory to combine many of these ground wires? Especially if they routinely become a problem down the road?;shrug

Thanks for the info. Sounds like one of my winter projects...that and replace the injectors....and paint/clean stuff......and.......and.....
