Way to go! There nothing like the experience of firing up a new engine and basking in the roar of a new life! Everytime I bring a new engine to life, I get a little over-revved myself! Looks Sweeeeet! Congratulations!

Bill

Great!!:beer

Did you have any issues with the air cleaner hitting the hoold with the performer RPM manifold?

When are you going to take it for a drive?:Steer

Frank

Frank, The Performer RPM is on the car, It fits with the 2+ inch drop base air cleaner. (From a 396 SS, 1969 Chevelle) With a 3" K&N filter and the big block hood. Look at the photo, I have about 1" clearance!!!! I checked it tonite with foil. I am running a Q-jet carb. No drive yet but will be very soon. It runs great! Fred.

I think you have a problem, there. You need a new master cylinder and A/C compressor. It's not so much that they look bad, as it is that the new engine looks too good for them :)

LOL SO TRUE!!!

Fred,
thanks for the update on getting her running. i can't wait to hear your report on the performance factor. you should be more than pleased, and the engine bay looks great!!! Brian

Sounds good. W/ 1" clearance, less drop base or taller air filter rec.

Ganey, don't forget the engine will torque over some. Some clearance is necessary IMO.

Joe and Frank, I couldn't agree more with the paint. It is cold here and I couldn't get the paint to not fisheye so I didn't finish the painting. The master cyl is new and unpainted, the A/C compressor is original. There are several other parts you can't see that suddenly look bad!!!! Upgrades beget upgrades!!!!

I still haven't taken her out. It is raining and cold. I still have the X-pipe and Super Turbo's to install. Hopefully on Thursday afternoon or Friday. Fred.

ITS GONNA BE SWEET!!!:beer :beer

Go For The Lid

Just a suggestion, put the K&N filter on for the top, I did and I like it!!! Nice job, it does look sweet and I hope it runs up to your expectations.:bu

Lou, I bought the K&N filter lid. It has about .75 inch relief inside the 3 inch K&N air filter. The butterfly on the Q-jet would not clear the lid relief. I had to take it back... Fred:mad

Bummer

Sorry to hear that Fred, I'm using a Holley so I have no problem. I did of course have to put an L88 hood on the car in order to fit the Victor Jr. and the 4" K&N, but it DO breath!;)
