I have an'88 with an automatic. The reverse lights quit working after I had some transmission work done. There must be a switch on it somewhere. Where?

There is a Park/Neutral/Backup Lamp Switch attached at the end of the shifter on the right side. As you go from Park, Neutral and Reverse it moves a 3way switch controling the coresponding bulbs that should come on. Number #31 is what you want w/GM number out to the right. I'd check the wiring first and perhaps the voltage comming out when you have it Reverse. Hope this helps...:w

I'll admit I'm new to Vettes. So I have to ask. Are you saying three should be a light somewhere (in dash?) for Park and Neutral as well as back up lights?
The switch on the shifter...accessable from the interior after removing the console plastic cover I suppose?
Thanks,
John

No lights on the dash. Just around the car when the shifter is moved from each position. And yep, it's underneath the plastic console cover. Be aware of the the little red plastic bar that moves up and down with the shifter telling you what gear your in. It just falls out as soon as you lift the console cover. When I replaced my switch I didn't noticed it and when I got it all back together and went to shift the damn thing just sat there. Had to tear it all back apart and re-attach it.
