I was 70 here again last night and I couldn't resist pulling the b2k out for a cruise. As I approached the main highway where all the cruising takes place and a tricked out Acura Integra drives by and starts revving his fart pipe and me then slows down. I turn onto the road and caught up. The kid slows to about a car behind me and downshifts and goes flying by me. He hit his brakes and waits to me to catch back up. They are smiling and waving at me and I return the gesture.

They start telling me to race. I grinned and shifted up to 3rd and gave it enough gas to spool the turbos nicely. They caught back up with eyes the size of frying pans :D and asked me to pull over into the main hang out lot where there was probably 200 cars with kids all over the place. I popped the hood.

Kinda funny...import/ricer kids depise Corvettes for the most part, but show them a Vette with 2 turbos and youre a celeb in minutes. They had never heard of a Callaway TT, but Im sure they won't forget it. I stayed for about 5 minutes and took off and went home shortly after. Id done my good deed for the evening.

Ejucation is what it's all about! Glad to hear that Florida teens now know that there's some other "turbo" cars out there! :)

Awesome story!!! I love reading that kind of stuff!!:D :D

I remember when I first heard there was a Twin Turbo Vette... :eek

Nice story Surf!

One day i'll hear a TT two! :)
Just beleave in faith, i know at least Surf is spreading it! :upthumbs :_rock

Greetings Peter.

Faster and more furious

It's weird but I think a TT kind of bridges a gap between Corvettes and newer ricers. When I went drag racing a while ago the kids with ricers who wouldn't usually be interested in a vette were all asking questions and making admiring comments when I popped the hood.

It was like being a star of "2 fast 2 furious"!

Similar story here. Some of you might have heard of the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. There is a "central" corner of Woodward and 13 Mile, specifically in the shopping center parking lot. I met a couple of Corvette buddies there and the focus became the old 1991 Callaway. People would walk by the C5 cars and stop to figure out why the crowd was looking under the hood of what appeared to be a C4.

I was asked the same set of questions over and over again, to a point where one of my friends said "You sound like one of those dolls that have the string in the back of their neck. Pull that and the same recorded message plays again and again".

The most common question was "Where are the turbos?" I'm going to have to get a picture or something......

Oh well. It was pretty cool.

Yeah, The funny thing is that most of them look at the intercoolers and think they are they turbos ;LOL :Silly :confused

For shows, I made a poster with the specs of my car and some pictures of the engine and from underneath (which Reeves autographed last year @ Carlisle).

It doesn't keep them from asking about the car though
:duh
