I do not recall if any body here has installed a richmond six speed in their C-3. I really would like to reduce the rpm's at cruise speeds. What problems might I encounter? Most apparent is the 1" longer 6 speed overall lenght and bell houseing bolt pattern.

thanks
Steve

Someone has done it. Run a search and you should be able to find a post on it. Its also been documented by 2 or 3 different people.

Have you considered a T-56?

I have one in my Trans Am and at 75mph the rpms are at 1700 or so. REALLY NICE!! Don't know what my differential gear ratio is though. I am guessing 3.42's.

Derster, hey, Lewisberry is just up the road from me. Not sure exactly about a c-3, but I had a richmond 6spd put in my '63. It is tighter than stock, but no major cutting was required. The only thing that was cut was the transmission tunnel was notched slightly, but the original console goes in like nothing was done. I have a 4.11 rear so the extra gears are wonderful. Definetly makes the car more highway friendly. Classic

Hey Classic I'll be lookin out for your 63. I have 3:55's in my vette and turn 3000 @ 70 mph so I feel that on longer runs I'll be using her up more that I would like.

anyway i'm looking for the best way to achieve my goal so all suggestions are appreciated.
