My 86 C4 has been sitting for a few months now, and it wont be until the end of may that i put it on the road. A few days ago when i went to check the lights out, i pulled out the switch and they both came up and went on. When i replaced the switch only the left headlight seemed to operate. I cant get the right headlight to go on or flip back. What could be the problem?

Thanks

Sounds like a ground .Start checking wires for corrosion on the ends.:w

It could also be that the drive gears for the light have gone bad, or rather, worn out. The aftermarket suppliers all list the bronze gears as replacements for the plastic gears but I've heard this is not a good thing to do; there is a chance it may cause you to do more damage than good due to the stronger gears. But then, that is only what I've heard or read somewhere, I haven't used those gears myself.

In the event the headlights refuse to raise or lower on your car, there is a knob located below the lights with which one can manually open/close the headlights. It is supposed to be held in place with a clip that you simply pry off of the top of the know, which allows the knob to turn. It's a lot of turns to open or close the lights, but it can save you in a pinch. ;)

I haven't time right now to research the article, but maybe someone will see this and respond with an address to the instructions on how to do this. :upthumbs

Thanks guys, ill be taking a look at that in addition to a few more things so i can pass inspection.
