I want to put American Racing Vintage Wheels (Torq Thurst II) on my 1987 Corvette. I am confused on the correct size, bolt pattern, offset, backspace and center cap? My tires on my car are: P255/50vr 16" and the wheels on the car (gotti) are 16 x 8.5. I also have been unable to find 8.5 width? I am afraid if i put 16 x 9 it will rub against the fender well when turning? Does anyone know what the correct american wheel will fit my car? Where car i purchased them? Please send tech information. Thanks, rip

You need to findout what the offset of the wheels are, that is what will tell you if they will fit.
I have 17 x 9.5 on my car.

Same size tire was used on both 8.5 and 9.5 rims from the factory. As you can see from the link above , you can go 6.7" backspacing with a 38mm offset. If rim offset is more you will need adapters or spacers to move wheel out and put in the right position ( for looks ) otherwise it will be too far in under the guard
