Road & Track Printed My Email

The Top gear guys are a lot of fun yet quite biased. I still like the Lotus but not quite a supercar killer. JMO

IMO I think it was rather heavy-handed of R&T to edit your email and substitute words within your message without acknowledging the fact.

I read several horse publications and when they do edit an email or letter to the editor, they use "..." to indicate deletion or omission and "(word/s)" to indicate they have paraphrased . Thus, the reader still gets the original contributor's overall sense, while understanding that space is limited within the magazine, and understands that the magazine has shown the pertinent point to the reader.

Heidi,

I believe that is what was done, but they were not in dire straights for space. In a way I think that it was a combination of things. I think they did paraphrase what I said to a degree, but left alot to the imagination struggling for one word. I also think they realized that they left out information to push their agenda for the article, I flagged them on it, and they didn't want to look too stupid. lol!

I rather read Chevy High Performance magazine any day of the week. Atleast you know what you are in for.
