rocker panel mods for hooker side-pipes?

THere is a lot of heat. When I had headers and straight thru exhausts, it radiated thru the floor and AC vents. Now with the pipes the heat doesnt have to work so hard to get in. It just pours thru the window...much more efficient!

when I put hookers on my 69, I just hung the side exhaust then eyeballed then location for the trimming, My Panels Are Fiber, Not Aluminum, so the trimming was Cake.

I installed Hooker side pipes last Nov. there was no templates when I recieved them. I did make cardboard cutouts of the side trim and after aligning up the bolt holes started to make my cuts on them, (I was a little short on my cuts on the cardboard on purpose,better so shave a little at a time on the cardboard), then transfered it to the trim. I still was leaving a little extra room for error so I didnt cut to much from the trim. go slow cut very little at a time, youll be much happier when yr done. I think I measured 20times, and cut 10times.(could be twice that amount),
I used a small die grinder with a cutoff wheel, you can also use a drimel tool . that attachments worked in my die grinder.(and I love the sound of the tool ), also the little sandpaper wheels worked great to finally finish off the project......., by the way dont forget to trim the fiberglass under the trim, ya might need to remove a bolt on the pass side of the inspection plate. also I left a little extra room on the drivers side for flex under load.(dont know if this is really needed though.) so my clearence is about 1/4in on the drivers side, and about 1/8 on the passenger side. good luck
