While washing my 06 C6 Z51 yesterday, I noticed a hairline crack about 5 inches long on the rear driver's side rotor where the hub meets the braking surface. I don't know how long the crack has been there, no signs of rust so I am assuming it happened recently. Has anyone alse experienced this? It is something that can be repaired or does or should the rotor be replaced? If I replace the driver's side, does the passenger side have to be replaced? Can the car be driven until the repair is completed? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Replace rotor

Suggest replace rotor, as any crack is not good. As rear brakes should work as unit, I would replace both at same time, because if one is cracked the other has had same usage.

Check the knowledge base out, there is a service bulletin regarding some 2005-2006 Corvettes - Visual Brake Rotor Surface Cracking. I came across is recently with my search on Brake Rotors.
