rubber smell

Hello all, I have been experiencing a distinct rubber smell with the a/c on. Dealer replaced serp belt but not a/c belt. Have checked all areas and find no reason this is happening. Had some initial belt smell from new belt but that is gone now, just a/c operation causing this. A/C blows cold. Odd problem I know, any ideas. 01 automatic, 31k miles. Cheers.

I believe that my mechanic has said that you might as well replace both belts while you are at it. When one is worn, the other one will be soon to follow. Also, the removal of the accessory drive belt is required to get the a/c belt off, I think.

Welcome to I get a distinct smell of rubber in mine Too!! For some reason I don't think it's my A/C!!!!otfl Ahh,there's nothing like smell of Kumho's in morning!!!!!!!!!!

guess I'll try a/c belt and see what happens, thanks, otherwise couldn't ask for more, c5's are the best.
