Has anyone had luck removing chipped and peeled rubberized coating from the plastic gearshift surround plate and or the radio/info center bezel in 1992 to 96 C4's? I cannot find a can of flat black rubberized spray paint, is there such a product? Any help or suggestions regarding restoration of the top coat of the plastic surrounds/bezels would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks So Bay Vetter. Knowing there is a solution is great to hear. I'll spend some time searching the forum tomorrow.

Yes! Plastic dip black spray paint! There is a post on it here somewhere. Covers removal/prep, the whole nine yards. You'll just have to search for it. It was a month or two back . . .
It may be here too,But I think I seen it at CF!:thumb

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Some of us aren't made of money, well, I'm not anyway. :D
The Old rubbery finish will come off with mineral spirits and a soft brush!!I haven't tried the Plastic Dip spray paint yet,I've been using SEM!! But I plan to the next one I need to do!!:thumb

Thanks for info. Sounds easy enough to remove old paint. I am still searching for the Plastic Dip spray paint. Unfamilar with SEM. Is it available at Auto paint supply stores?

Thanks again to all.
I picked up the PlastiDip spray paint at Home Depot $5.99. Who would of thought. Hopefully I'll get the old coating off the center shift console in the next couple of days and paint it on Sat.
By the way, I fixxed the headlight gear train today. The Delron bushings were fine. The shaft that comes out and connects to the headlight assy was spinning in the main gear. I drilled a hole through the gear (center area that the delron bushings rotate around) and shaft and installed a rollpin. Worked great.

Wow! It comes in white!! I may be able to get my white interior yet!!
