Offshore,

Your comments continue to be less than professional, and degrading to other members on the site. You have been warned. Now you have been removed.

Here's a question. Why would I want to trade the '69 (the shape it was in) for a '87? Unless I'm missing a point, is a '87 worth 25K?

Chris, Thanks for the phone call this morning. You pretty much set my path for the vechicle. Also, thanks for editing the previous posts (I didn't see any of them untill now).

Everyone, feel free to debate what happened. Even the body shop did not have a clear answer to that question (of course the adjuster didn't give them anytime to work on it).

Again, thanks for all your support. The fellowship and frendship is what makes CACC important to me.

Thanks,
Rick

Ya know something.....I'm going to be blunt here and I'm throwing my professionalism out the door for a minute.

Your email to me is bull****:

Message: If your mad because I'm right then move to France, If your mad because I tried to tell rick not to let the ins.co. take his car then your stupid! I'll say what I want when I want 80% of the time I'm right and I don't mind saying so! I told him how to avoid this he did'nt and now look. I made a fair offer for his car and I;ll stand by it ! If you stand by this ***** **** action then go **** your self! 25 years of prof.service to high performance boat owner's and I don't take **** from anyone. I told the truth! If you can't handle it to bad!!!!!!!!!!

So let me give you a ****ing reality check:

THIS IS MY SITE AND MY FORUMS AND IT'S HERE FOR THE ONLINE COMMUNITY TO USE FOR FREE. I'LL BE DAMNED IF YOU'RE GOING TO COME HERE AND GIVE ME A PILE OF YOUR BULL****. THERE ARE RULES HERE AND YOU HAVE A CHOICE: EITHER ABIDE BY THEM OR TAKE A ****ING HIKE. IN THIS CASE, YOU HAVE OUTSTAYED YOUR WELCOME AND YOU'RE OUT OF HERE. DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU IN THE ASS.

I Missed Something

First.......NICE JOB CHRIS!!!:D

Second......NICER JOB ROB!!!:BOW

Third.......On I think page 5, "someone" said it was SOOO obvious that the engine was running or turning over during the fire, no? And then on the last page it's the exact opposite? I studied those pictures until I was blurry eyed and I didn't see what was there. Can someone enlighten me?

:L I hadn't checked in on this thread since it first appeared. I had no idea of what was going on in here, but it looks like it all has been settled anyway.

Aha! I see now Chris. :cool

I just got done reading all the posts, Man what a sad sight, and sadder outcome.. Rick, like the rest of the Community, I feel for you.. best wishes and good luck in your future Corvette.

Lou,
I studied those photo's to see what ***** was talking about.. the only thing I can see that he may have been refering too, is the pulley on the fan, the inside raceway on the inboard pulley doesn't have and soot or carbon, then the photo of the radiator doesn't have any soot or carbon on the inside which may indicate air being drawn through the radiator.. BUT the alternator pulley is ashed.. So I really don't know what ***** was talking about!

Rick, I am sorry to hear the insurance company totalled your beautiful car. I am sure there are no words to describe how you feel. What ever you decide, I am sure you will give it alot of thought. Good luck to you!

Chris and Rob- I am new to :CAC When I first started reading offshore's posts I was truely shocked that someone like that would be allowed to post such trash..... Then I read further and seen your posts. I will say that I am very impressed! ;worship

Good Job and thank you for kickin' offshore to the curb. It doesn't appear that he belongs here. Everyone else seems to be extremely caring and helpful! :_rock

Thanks Tee,

This sort of thing is extremely rare here because we just don't tolerate it. Normally, my first reaction is to remove the offender - ask questions later, but that isn't always the prudent thing to do.

So, now I try to extend a little more patience, and give the offender a chance to wise up. In this case, the Admins did an outstanding job at requesting that he shape up. When I started getting private emails from him it took me a second to figure out who the "genius" was.

Then, I found his responses here which like most of his other responses, were rude and immature.

The one thing that some people tend to forget is that this site and these forums are for their use, free of charge. They pay nothing to use this site or participate here. Some people start to think they are owed something, and as far as I'm concerned, when they start paying the hosting fees and investing the time to build and maintain this site, then I'll be more than happy to tolerate their crap.

These forums tend to run relatively smoothly and everyone pretty much gets along with one another. I intend on making sure that it continues that way.

Rick,

Sorry to hijack your thread due to this moron (offshore) who took it upon himself to bless us with his "wisdom and insight". I'm also sorry to hear that the insurance company totaled the car. Please keep us posted on what you decide to do with it.

My lowly 2 cents, my 66 burned from a fuel fire after I shut it off. I was told the excess fuel was not effected by road air or radiator air, had pooled and ran to a point where it could ignite, again mine was from stuck needle valve. I do really like the idea of a battery cutoff, but don't know where I'd put it. any suggestions?

BTW - Kudos to the "yank" of what's his name.

Good Job Chris and Rob. I think Offshore needs to stay off for sure. He was really a jerk.

Again Rick I am sorry about your car. She was a beauty.

Ok, kinda switching topics here but is there a particular carb that the needle valve get stuck or is it any that is in need of a rebuild? I heard the Holley's aren't that great and have problems... I want to go with an Edelbrock when I get my Vette.

Mine was a Holley, but I'm sure improvements have been made, I have Edlebrock but would suggest you check Weind (sp) manifolds.
