Well tonite I went to the local store and parked my C6 Coupe way out front away from everyone, just like I always do. As I pulled away,I heard this scrapimg noise against my wheel and or tire. I jumped out in panic and noticed that the store had placed those riser like cement parking in the lot. There about 10' high and they kind of resemble what you are suppose to pull up against. It was sort of mid evening, and I had no idea they were there until they scraped up against my wheel. Its about 8-9" long right against the wheel and rubber tire..
I read somewhere where you can take your vette to a collision center and they can get the scrapes and blemishes off the wheel? Is this correct.. I live in Cleveland,Ohio.. Thanks

I did something very similar but it was a curb. Scratched about a 4 in section of the upper rim. I took it to this specialty wheel repair shop and they turned it out for about $90. It is are no longer clear coated though. Best of luck.

There used to be a very small number of wheel repair shops, but with almost every model with an alloy option, there are now hundreds of shops. There are a number around my place I never heard of. Seems they cater to dealers, especially upscale shops that deal in BMWs, Mercs, Audis etc. Ask around at the dealer body shops or detail shops. They'll know if there is a wheel repair business in your area. A local BMW dealer pays a flat $75 for a complete wheel repair/refinish - IF the wheel isn't chromed. There is an additional charge to send it out to a plating shop, and it isn't cheap.
