Scratched and flaked center console

The center console on my '65, which is black is pitted and chipped in areas...Tired of black magic marker quick fixes...Any paint that would be good to respray the console...

I believe the paint of choice for Midyear consoles among many restorers is Krylon semi-flat black. That's what I use.

I had a problem getting paint to stick to mine, Finally I paint stripped it then used eastwoods self etching primer (allow the paint to bite in),Then a product made by SEM also purchased from eastwoods that was called black trim paint.

I had problems originally getting the paint to stick and I thought it was from amoral being used in the past to clean and shine the car
