I have a few scratches in my clearcoat, how do i get them out? i don't want to mess up the paint.

I'm thinking we need a bit more detail. Are they big scratches or the very small spider web scratches you only see when looking at an angle with good light source?

hey are small scratches that are seen whenever the light hits the vette right.

Sounds like you have the spider web scratches. The easiest way is to use a good buffer like the porter cable 7424. Then pick your favorite auto scratch remover. I personally have used the "smooth cut/light cut" polish from Top of the Line detailing supplies and it worked well. When I run out of that I think I'll try the Z-PC by Zaino.

I just got a black DD and its covered with this type of scratch so when it warms up I'll be trying the Zaino Z-5 pro to see if it will remove them.

If you want to do it yourself you need to get a random orbital buffer, a polish for light scratches, wax, and the appropriate pads.

Griot's Garage and Adam's Polish are 2 good companies. You can buy a kit
with everything you need. Do a Google search. It's easy shopping.

I bought my stuff from Griots and they are excellent products. You can't burn the paint with an orbital buffer.:beer

861 and 862 are the same scratch, just a different angle!! I had to sand the heck out of it with a block and 2000 grit!! Steve's Rt Front Fender,Hood and Door had several that I had to sand to get them out!!:thumb:thumb:thumbGotta be careful, the clear is only about 2-3 mill thick, thats thinner than a Cheap Garbage Bag!!;LOL
