Have a 98 coupe with 15,700 miles. The seat adjuster lets the seat move forward and backwards when driving. I know there is a service bullentin on this problelm. Chevrolet is giving me a hard time about replacing this part. It's not like they didn't know about the adjuster being bad. Chevrolet, even knows what VIN's the bad adjuster came on. Even with employee discount the price is $460.00. Have allready replaced the leather seats, because the bolsters were worn out. The car only has 15,700 mles. Can get anyone a deal on seat covers, know a guy that gets GM covers for a very good price. How do I get Chevrolet to take care of the faulty seat adjuster ????????? HELP

I've had a few instances just like that. Some of them even when the warranty was still in effect. The Chevrolet warranty person told me not to rub up against the bolster while getting in. Has anybody ever tried this? The steering wheel becomes a balancing bar!

I've got 47K on my '99 Conv. I just installed my third upper drivers' seat cover. This time I added something in between the cover and the cushion.

I actually cut up a one gallon plastic milk container. It has a curve that matches the curve of the bolster area that wears out. The plastic is thin enough to curve around holding it in place with duct tape. This really sounds mickey mouse, but If I replaced the cover when I noticed the slightest wear everytime, I would have had 5 covers on by now!! There's a piece of metal that supports the bolster area that may be the culprit. I covered that up, and installed the cover over that. I can't tell at all and think it will make the difference.

I just picked up an '02 Conv. and bought mucho extended warranty just for things like your seat adjuster and such.

Maybe you can locate one of those from a used Corvette Parts Supplier!

Drivers seat w/memory

I know that most all have had problems with the seat bolsters. have replaced mine. The problem with the used Corvette seat adjusters is that the old one are the bad ones. I believe that Chevrolet changed the disign of the seat adjuster, so it wouldn't do any good to get a used one. Only the NEW ones are any good. I did talk to Chevrolet today and maybe just maybe, I'll get some relief from them. Even with an Employees discount, the part is still $460.00 out the door. I know thats better than the $743.00 the dealer wants. But 460 is still 460 that could go else where.
