Seat rocks back on accelleration, rocks forward on braking just slightly enough to completely annoy me.

I have a 94 with the sport seats and it looks like the forward power seat motor under the seat adjusts the front of the seat up and down. The mechanical coupling to is what is giving out to cause the rock. Movement is just about an 1/8 to a 1/4 inch at the front of the seat, but its bugging the **** out of me.

Anybody know if there is a fix for it? I found the only way to counter act it is to adjust the seat all the way to the floor, however that's not the best position for comfort if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance!

Bill

your seat rail is dying.

they are very weak anyway, and the bushings and such inside give up.

yours is giving up... and there is little you can do short of replace it.

the options are simple: new GM ($$$), remanufactured (not so bad) or used (questionable).

the parts are not available. I wish they were.

Check simple things first.

You may have done this but maybe you didn't. Pull the bottom cushion out of the way, take your socket wrench and tighten all four nuts that hold your seat to the floor. I bet this takes care of it.

same problem with seat adjuster

Hey, I have the same problem with the seat. I have just tore down the drivers seat to just the adjuster to see if I could do something about it, and I found that the driver-side rail is tight, but the passenger-side is really loose. This was the best post I have seen yet for this problem. I would not mind spending the $200 ($170 if you look around on corvetteforum) on a refurb one, I just want to make sure the @(#*$&% thing works. It drives me nuts also! Of course I have 206,000 miles on mine, so I guess pieces like this are going to go at some point....

save the wave...Jon

Seat movement

I read on other tech sites that the bushings wear out is it possible to purchase the bushings?

Side support

On my 93 the side pan between the door and seat cracked. This allowed the back to move back and forth. I thought it was a metal stamping until I took it out. Yup Plastic or something like that. I took a piece of sheet metal and formed a roll over on the top to go over the plastic tray(for a better name for it) Then formed the sheet metal over the shape of the broken piece. I thought about pop riveting this gusset repair but instead I mixed up a batch of JB Weld. Sanded the plastic so it was rough and sandwiched the metal piece over the plastic piece with the JB Weld Epoxy in between. After it was dry I painted the repair black. Reassembled the frame to the car. It has been over two years now and it is still doing the job.:upthumbs This may not be your problem but my experience might help someone else out.:v
